Dear Friends
Two things about the first quarter of this year seem hardly possible. First, that it has past so quickly and has now become history. Second, that we could be in so many different places in such a short time. Praise God for modern methods of travel that have made it possible to move from one corner of this great nation to another in a matter of hours.
Just to give you an update on our ministry, my schedule this year has taken us into nine states including North Dakota, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Arizona, Tennessee, Mississippi, West Virginia and South Carolina. It has been a very exciting year thus far. I am glad to report that in several of the churches that I preach in regularly this year’s meeting was the best ever. One of the most exciting things to happen took place on a Sunday morning in one of our Florida Churches.
An elderly man in his late sixties slipped out and walked down the isle, knelt down and trusted Christ as his savior. Of course, it is always exciting when this happens but this was even more exciting when I learned that he was the pastor’s brother whom he had prayed for at least 47 years. Then in addition to this I learned that his mother who also had prayed for years for his salvation was in the service and was able to see him come to Christ. This is the kind of thing that makes living on the road truly worthwhile.
Please continue to pray for Mrs. Fielder and I as well as the schedule of meetings for 2009. She will be with me in some of my meetings when I drive but not when I fly. Keep her in your prayers because it is not easy for her to be alone at home while I am in some distant state.
